Developmentally appropriate practices (DAP)

The idea of developmentally appropriate practices is to provide an environment that offers content, materials, activities, and methodologies that apply to the child's level of development. The three areas of appropriateness according to circleofinclusion.org is age appropriateness, individual appropriateness, and cultural and social context appropriateness. Keeping each of these areas in mind of a child's appropriateness will not only help you become a better teacher, but it will help you and the students relate to eachother.
